Yoodo, Malaysia's first fully customization and 100% digital mobile service is fast commenting its position as the telco for gamer. Riding off a successful 2018 partnership, Yoodo is once again the Official Digital Telco for the Player's Unknown Battlegrounds (PUBG) MOBILE National Championship (PMNC) 2019.
Organised by gaming giant, Tencent Games, the tournament has seen 384 teams or over 1500 individuals participating at six qualifiers across Malaysia. Now at its climax, 16 teams have reached the exciting finals to battle it our for a shot at a prize pool of RM114,000!
Mobile gaming is no longer niche and is going mainstream fast. It is forecaster to grow at a rate of 25% yearly according to a report by Newzoo, In recognition of this, Yoodo has been quick to solidify its position with the sector.
To reinforce its unwavering commitment to gamers, Yoodo is extending the free promo period for its PUBG MOBILE data add-on that gives users 20GB of dedicated data for the popular game and is now free until the end of December 2019.
No stranger to the Malaysian e-sports scene, Yoodoo sponsored the last PMNC tournament and rewarded the winners with one-year free mobile plans. To conclude the season, Yoodo signed on the champions becoming the first telco to unveil their own e-sports team Yoodo Gank.
This is part of the telco's direction to nurture and uplift Malaysian talent not just in e-sports, but also in sports, entertainment and tech. Yoodo Presents, Malaysia's first interactive online concert series to showcase local indie bands is one such initiative. Additionally, Yoodo also recently inked a sponsorship deal for the country's new Malaysia Premier Futsal League 2019 organized by the Football Association of Malaysia. The sponsorship will help boost awareness and fan engagement for the new Futsal league.
